Urgent roof repairs required

Over recent months, the rear internal wall of the Village Hall has shown increasing signs of damp. Following a professional survey of the rear wall and roof, we have been advised that urgent repair work is required and cannot be delayed.

The survey found that:

• The rear wall has cracked and needs repair
• The chimney is unstable and must be safely demolished
• The roof tiles at the rear are deteriorating and crumbling to dust
• The roofing felt also needs replacing

The remainder of the roof, which was replaced during the extension, is thankfully in good condition. Work has already had to begin to prevent further damage, and the total cost is expected to exceed £15,000.

We never like to ask, and we work hard throughout the year to raise funds for the Village Hall through events and activities. However, the scale of this repair is beyond what we can cover alone.
